Journal Entry:

“While traveling with my Bedohari companions, I had the opportunity to have some interesting discussions with the tribe leader. When he learned of my pursuit of information and knowledge, especially my curiosity regarding Grimms, he shared with me a rather unusual and frightening story.”

“He told me that this story was one that had been passed around between the different nomadic tribes of Sanus. Whether it was true or not was left for the listener to decide. It regarded a once prospering settlement that had fallen to a tragic event. It had been a normal sunny day and the residents of the settlement were simply going by their daily errands when a sandstorm was spotted approaching quickly from an ample amount of distance. Sanus had its own fair share of sandstorms and were not surprised, so they simply returned to their homes to weather out the storm.  But what the residents did not know was that it was not the storm but rather what was in it that would spell the horrific end of their settlement. No wonder it came as a shocking surprise when the first wave of Grimms struck the settlement. They were said to be the size of an average human with two distinguishable horns and four arms. By the time that the residents had left their individual homes to rally at the settlements main hall, many had already fallen. Then the second wave of Grimms came for the main hall. These ones were fall taller than the Grimms of the initial waves, sporting two horns, a tail, and two arms ending in wickedly sharp blades which they used to tear down the walls of the main hall. With the sandstorm engulfing the entire settlement and Grimms using It to their advantage to attack from all sides, the residents could do nothing but give in to panic and fall one by one, except for a young girl who was placed by her parents inside one of the settlements Sandrunners (similar to the boats used by the Bedohari to traverse the desert terrain). Unfortunately, the young girl’s parents fell as they bought time for their young daughter to escape. It was said that this very young girl was the only survivor of that horrific event and was the one who told the story first to the tribe that found her, who in turn spread the story to other tribes. After time had passed, other tribes who were brave enough to go confirm this did indeed find the settlement in total ruins but with no sight of Grimms.”

“I inquired as to what had happened to the young girl and the tribe leader simply replied that she had probably grown up by this time with the tribe that found her. Just as I was writing down the last sentence on my journal, the tribe leader added one final part of the girl’s story that left me in silence for a while. He said that as the young girl was fleeing on the Sandrunner, she had looked back one final time at her home and saw one large Grimm which appeared to be floating in the air with the sand storm seemingly centered on it. Could it be possible that there are such Grimms that could manipulate the weather to their very whims? I had trouble sleeping that night, my mind swirling with thoughts about the tragic event and the young girl who lived to tell the tale.”
